Car use – conditions and insurance policy
- The client is given the vehicle solely for the purpose of participating in the various activities within the framework of the excursion or tour offered by Kokopeli experience (Kokopeli Netivim in Spain S.L. B64240419). Accordingly, use of the vehicle is only for the above activities.
- The responsibility for any damage to the vehicle during its use is wholly that of the client.
- The excess for off road vehicles is up to €950
- The excess for other vehicles it is up to €500 (or less as per the contract).
- The excess will be according to the cost of the damage (meaning that if the damage is €100 the amount charged will only be €100) and not more than the maximum amount specified by the contract.
- Damage to the undercarriage or damage to the automotive systems and assemblies (such as burning of the clutch) due to driving counter to instructions, or any damage or fine imposed as a result of deliberate negligence such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be charged as excess. In these cases, the driver will be charged the full cost of repairs etc.
- Damage as a result of normal wear and tear is not the client’s responsibility
- Accidents are not considered negligence unless in the case of criminal negligence (i.e. driving under the effects of drugs and or alcohol, deliberate disregard to road safety and regulations).
- In matters of disagreement between the parties regarding the nature of the damage, the decision will be made by a qualified assessor / appraiser
- Driving tickets (fines) are the full responsibility of the driver. If payment is dealt with through Kokopeli, there will be aa extra charge of €35 for processing the payment.
Waiver of Excess
It is possible to waive the excess at the cost of €20 per day for a minimum of €100 (that is to say for 5 days even if the trip is shorter than 5 days) In case the vehicle is used for over 8 days the charge will be €12 as of the 9th day.
In purchasing the waiver there will be no charge for damage to the vehicle except for in the following cases
- Irreparable damage to a tire (torn tire), the cost of which will be €90 (instead of the full cost of a new tire)
- Damage to the undercarriage or damage to the automotive systems and assemblies (such as burning of the clutch) due to driving counter to instructions, or any damage or fine imposed as a result of deliberate negligence such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be charged as excess. In these cases, the driver will be charged the full cost of repairs etc.
Requirement in order to use vehicles:
A valid driving license – the renter must be in possession of an international driving license valid for over one year within the EU
A valid passport
A credit card: The renter must have a valid international credit card in his/her name. (1 credit card per vehicle).
